About AirAsia India

AirAsia India is an Airline, which is a joint venture of Tata Sons and AirAsia Investment Limited (Malaysia), started its operations on 12th June 2014 in Bangalore as its main hub. AirAsia is the 4th largest carrier in India, with a market share of 7.2%. AirAsia is also the first foreign airline to set a subsidiary in India.

In 2013, the Indian government was allowing foreign direct investment in airlines, AirAsia Berhad, applied for Foreign Investment Promotion Brand for seeking approval for commencing their operations in India. In 2013 March 28 AirAsia India was established and it commenced its operations in 2014 June 12. AirAsia India has a fleet size of 30 and served up to 20 destinations.
