About Thai Airways

Thai Airways is the flag carrier of Thailand, formerly known as Thai International. Thai Airways is the founding member of Star Alliance. Thai Airways is the second-largest shareholder of Nok Air, the low-cost carrier with a 13.28 stake in the company. Thai Airways was the first Asia-Pacific airline to serve the London Heathrow Airport.

In 1960, as a joint venture between Scandinavian Airlines and Thailand's domestic carrier, Thai international was found. In 1988, then-Prime Minister merged the international and domestic operations of the two companies and formed the present company. Thai Airways International as a single national carrier. Thai Airways Baggage

• If the baggage exceeds 32KG and 158CM, then it is not accepted.
• Passengers can get a discount of 10% when purchased online for the baggage and should purchase 24 hours before the departure.
• Passengers can 5KG up to 30KG baggage online. And the rest should be bought at the airport.
• Thai Airways charges 180USD for extra baggage when flying from/to the destination of the USA and Canada.
• Depending on the routes of the destinations charges may vary from 12 to 70USD per KG.

Thai Airways Check in

• Airport check-in: Passengers can check-in at the airport 3 hours before departure of the flight. The counter closes 40 minutes before the departure. Boarding gates close 10 minutes before departure of the flight. Passengers can also check-in at the self-service kiosk machines available at the airport and can obtain the boarding pass.
• Web check-in: Passengers can check-in online/web. The check-in option starts 24 hours to 60 minutes before the departure of the flight.
• Mobile check-in: Passengers can check-in their devices and can be made from 24 to 1 hour before the scheduled takeoff. Passengers need to show the barcode at the Security Checkpoint and also provide the ID or Passport.
